The Republican world view is, unfortunately, dependent upon who is paying the bills. We should always expect the core of the Republican party to support so-called "Family Values" while stumping for votes and then to take anti family positions in the manner in which they vote. Haliburton is a big player and its wishes are the command of a large cadre of Republicans because money is their life blood. I'm not sure what link exists between Haliburton and Roman Polanski...? I do see a common theme in conservative excuse speak though. The fact that a group of so-called "Hollywood Elitists" support a pardon for Polansky, bears no relationship to the point of the blog and to view it as a means of suggesting a double standard is a stretch.

Tim I never would have thought that Haliburton had anything in common with Roman Polanski. But even stranger Woody Allen,Martin Scorsese, Deborah Winger. David Lynch, Millisa Gilbert, Natalie Portman, Harrison Ford, Harvey Wienstien, Patricia Arquette and Whoopie Goldberg to have something in common with all those R- senators . The above Hollywood elite belive that Polanski should not have to do any time in jail for the drugging and rape of a 13 year old girl in which he pleaded guilty in 1977. He then fled the country a year later to avoid prosecution, now awaiting the return to the U.S. to serve his sentance.
